 Gingaman is the series that later became Power Rangers Wild Force. I hope to get the DVD of the Sentai version, sometime in the future.

That's quite quick considering Megaranger doesn't come out until the end of this month.

There's no mention of Gingaman on Shout Factory's upcoming releases page for either January or February:

    https://www.shoutfactory.com/new-releases

Is there any confirmation for that January 30 date besides the Amazon listing?

  8. Preorders for it have been live on many other retail sites after Amazon for the longest, and have all stated January 30th as the release date. It's not uncommon for preorders to go live at other retail sites before they do at Shout! Factory's own site.

Anyway, a preorder page did go live on Shout! Factory's site yesterday.

Love the cover. This is going to be interesting to be able to compare Shout!'s 8 disc release to Toei's 10 disc one. I couldn't do that with Mega since I didn't own the R2s.

Man, Shout! must have had different people doing subs on this show. First off, they translate Seijuu Sentai Gingaman. Now that isn't that big of a deal, but there are two things about it. For one thing, they have been keeping the team names untranslated since Dairanger. Secondly, they're not consistent. During the opening song they translate the team as Galactic Warriors Gingaman, but then during the episodes they have it as Starbeast Squadron Gingaman. Also, they have Balban correct in the subs, but spell it as Barban on the packaging (and also spell Budoh without the H on the box). Lastly, they now translate the song lyrics. I wish they had done this for Carranger since the lyrics are half of the joke for the battle against the Zokurangers.

Other than those minor nitpicks, everything else is great.

Finished the DVDs today. All was great except the timing of the subs was all over the place on the final disc. They weren't Carranger bad, but more often than not, the first half of the episode had the subs appear about a quarter to half a second before the dialog was spoken while the second half would have the subs show up about a quarter to half a second after the characters started speaking.

It was fine, but it got a little annoying when they were only saying one word sentences. The worst bit was during a coversation between Hyuuga and Bucrates in episode 49 due to how quickly they were speaking to each other.
