Now to diverge from continuity with Kyuranger. "So what's the story here?" This is the first sentai series (ignoring Akibaranger) that is supposed to be outside the main sentai continuity and such a bold claim needs to be taken under a microscope. "Alright, how do you approach this then?" One episode a day with a synopsis for each episode. "Didn't most of this board see this series?" Yes, but I doubt most people here have analyzed the monsters of the week! "Nooooooo!" Yes! "Anything else we should know?" Supposedly this is one of the worst sentai entries and all I can get from /m/ is that the blue ranger is super popular with furries. Also I watched Chou Super Hero Wars and apparently the Silver ranger is like Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Beyond that we're going in blind. "You gonna do the second Space Squad movie?" Nope. "Will this be your top priority?" I do intend to finish this all before Christmas, otherwise Kyuranger will be taken a back seat to other things I really need to finish. Because I want this all done by Christmas, New Year's Eve at the latest, I had to really marathon the tar out of Zyuohger which has left me mildly worn out. We've been doing this for five years and we're almost at the end! ================================================= Episode 1: Things start off with kids on a playground when an alien horde stops them. The narrator states that 88 constellations throughout space are controlled by Jark Matter. On planet Clothos we see Jark Matter invading a city and people running for their lives. Among the defenders are three of the rangers of the series consisting of the Green, Yellow, and Black rangers. They land via gyroscopes, banter, transform, and fight the Jark Matter grunts named indavers. On a ship their Pink ranger reminds them to save civilians. Cut to their some guy roaming an area with comets when his rocket sled moves out of control. The three rangers are outnumbered when random guy crashes into the squad, takes off his helmet, and says he had a lucky safe landing. Fighting continues and random guy likes it so he fights indavers too. The intro plays and it's now the worst. Cut to the Orion, the Kyuranger mothership, where astronaut guy is given food and introduced to everyone. Pink informs the astronaut they fixed his machine when Yellow reveals he apparently knew this guy. Yellow asks him about Jark Matter and he replies he does not know them. It's strange that Black says they control the universe because 88 constellations would easily fit into one galaxy, are these constellations across multiple galaxies? Are they all in one super cluster? Pink explains they are awful people and that Kyu Globes are used to fight them and they must assemble nine warriors. Astronaut guy- Fuck it I'm revealing now he's Red. Red says he will be Kyuranger number four as he takes a Constellation Blaster. After that we see a Jark Matter general named Eriedrone contact the Jark Matter ruler, Don Armage, who is less than pleased the Kyurangers won and tells him to do something about it. Red heads off to planet Jugjug where he crash lands and encounters a wolfman who I will refer to as the Blue ranger because that is who this is. Red and Blue fight until Green and Black stop Blue. Red says he has a Kyu Globe so the five of them (Yellow is with them) talk it out at a village. Blue is sad nobody can beat Jark Matter so Red calls him a coward, angering him. Eriedrone arrives to Jugjug to terminate the Kyurangers while Red and Blue fight on a beach- How the hell are flowers growing in sand? Blue mentions that Jark Matter wiped out his clan when he was young, Red points out that is more of a reason to fight. Blue wonders where Red's strength is coming from as he gives a hammy speech. Green spots the Jark Matter who fire lasers from their ships. The indavers are aided by their commanders, tsuyoindavers- Screw it I'll call them tsyuois from now on. Green, Yellow, and Black transform and Red helps them. Eriedrone sends fighters called moraimars after Red to make him an example. Red manages to hang onto one which causes him to be flown into space and freeze up. He thinks he is not going to die- Oh snap he wears an earring! Suddenly he glows and a red Kyu Globe appears before him so he can use it and surf down using a meteor. He transforms while jumping off the meteor and its shower which destroys the indavers. Red proclaims he will save the universe. Red jumps into the fray, mercilessly terminating every indaver in his way. The other rangers start using special moves in classic sentai fashion. Red has trouble with a pair of tsyuois, but the tide washes them away which he calls lucky. Pink informs everyone the Orion is under assault, Yellow says Main Dish in plain english, and joins Green in summoning mechs to help it in space. Red accidentally summons his own globe which causes a volcano to erupt and summon a mechanical lion from it. Combining happens and a space battle ensues and HOLY SHIT I AM ENJOYING MYSELF WITH THIS HAHAHAHA! Black gets worn down by being surrounded and Blue gets traumatic flashbacks while thinking about what Red said. He uses his Kyu Globe and takes a Constellation Blaster to transform. Black and Blue are able to turn the tide with the tide changing in their favor while space fighting goes on. Red fiddles with his Constellation Blaster and accidentally combines with the mechs of Green and Yellow to form Kyurenoh. A tsyuoi grows to fight Kyurenoh when Blue and Black also summon mechs to form the legs. I will also start calling the mechs voyagers since that is what they are. The tsyuoi pulls out a whip to go with its double sided club, but Kyurenoh endures and fights on. Some disarming and melee ensue followed by the Star Break which is Kyurenoh doing an energy slash while back rockets fire. On the icy comet on can see a sideways pose (thanks camera tilting) and both Red and Blue are now members aboard the Orion once they are back on. Black joins in on the joyous occasion. On planet Jagama we see a diner of people talking with the Kyurangers on wanted posters. The ending credits ensue and like every ending theme since Go-Busters we just have to have a friggin dance number. Joy! Next episode shows some fighting, a pair of bounty hunters from the diner, and the premier of Silver and Gold.
