Nadesico was really big in its heyday. It was one of the first properties designed to be published across multiple media to really hit home with the otaku audience.

This format also makes less accessible to US fans, but that's not really Animage's problem.

In a lot of ways you can view Nadesico as the progenitor of modern franchises designed with multiple media in mind, like Fate/Stay Night. Its content as a mecha show is practically incidental to this.

Eh, I'm just biased because my favorite series made it into the top ten. :p

That probably is it, Fox. There is no way Dragon Ball could not make it to the top ten. It's not my favorite, but it's great by itself.

I'm just surprised someone thought of Galaxy Express 999.

What can I say? I love me some Lupin.

To be honest, 52 sounds about right for Dragon Ball. As popular and influential as it is, mostly everything above it is better or even more influential.

That doesn't help your case that Pokemon is better than Cowboy Bebop...

Apparently this list is incomplete because it was posted to a newsgroup? I don't think it's actually gone to print. Google for animage top 100.

Yes. Besides, wasn't it the Dragon Ball MANGA that was more popular than everything else on the market?

    Oh I see then.

    Ah, this explains it.

It's not actually a "top 100 in order of importance." It's a set of eight categories. The reason for the missing numbers is because some works fit into more than one category, so they're only listed once.

God only knows why they published it the way they did.

Then it should be higher than 82. It is easily more influential than some of the anime's above it, (ex: G Gundam)

Read the thing I posted. It's not a list of best to worst. They're divided up by category.

Oh, this makes more sense. I'm still not sure if there is still a ranking system, but there seems to be one in place after the number order is found. It's still strange that the numbers for each category are different.

Why do you all expect me to have the answers? :p

That's cool, just making sure. :)

Man I remember when I was a kid watching this video for the first time, and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I watch it now and I think "My god, there's... there's like three frames of animation in this entire video."

    The song is badass, though.
